Follow these recommendations to prepare for your Cosmetic Stem Cell treatment and for your aftercare
Pre-treatment Recommendations
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for a period of 1 week before treatment. Medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Naprosyn, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. Celebrex, Meloxicam, and Tylenol can be taken up until the day of your treatment as they do not increase the risk of bleeding. Let us know ahead of time if you are on any other blood thinners like: Warfarin (Coumadin), Heparin, Enoxaparin (Lovenox), Dalteparin (Fragmin), Rivaroxaban (Xarelto), Apixaban (Eliquis), Dabigatran (Pradaxa), or Edoxaban (Savaysa)
Stay away from cigarettes and alcohol for 2 days prior to your procedure to decrease the risk of bruising.
Ideally schedule your appointment at least 1 week prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or vacation as there is a small chance of bruising.
Stay well-hydrated and maintain a balanced diet to promote overall skin health, enhancing the effectiveness of the treatment.
Follow a gentle skincare routine, avoiding harsh products or treatments around the eye area to minimize irritation and prepare the skin for the injection.
Aftercare Instructions
There may be some discomfort in the area that was injected, this will resolve in a few days, avoid rubbing the area. There will be some immediate cosmetic improvement, but as the Stem Cell treatment stimulates the body's natural healing process the full effect will take about 6 weeks, so you will need to be a bit patient.
You may apply cosmetics the following day (24 hours) after the procedure.
If there is bruising you can use topical Arnica to help the bruising, which is available over the counter at any drug store. An ice pack wrapped in a towel can also be applied for 20 minutes at a time if there is excess swelling or redness.
Protect the treated area from excessive sun exposure by wearing sunglasses and using sunblock to prevent pigmentation changes and support optimal healing.
