PDO Thread Lift

The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment that lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue, using threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO).  This is sometimes called the Lunchtime Facelift

Once introduced, the threads produce 3 effects in the skin:

  • Instant Skin Lifting through mechanical effects

  • Cellular Renewal, through Collagen stimulation, and neovascularization to improve skin texture, fine lines, and elasticity

  • Skin Tightening, by contracting fat tissue

About 6 months after the procedure, the PDO threads will disappear through simple hydrolysis (they are absorbable). The effects can last up to 18 months as your skin cells are stimulated to produce new collagen and new blood vessels to improve skin microcirculation. At the same time, the PDO threads cause the fat tissue to contract, producing a skin tightening and facial slimming effect.

We typically use Molded Cog threads as they have the best lifting power.

IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR A PDO THREAD LIFT?

The ideal candidate for a PDO thread lift is typically someone who is looking for a minimally-invasive, non-surgical way to lift and tighten sagging skin, smooth out lines and wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture. They should be in good physical and emotional health and have realistic expectations about the results of the treatment.

A PDO thread lift may be a good option for someone who is starting to notice signs of facial aging, such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and loss of volume, but is not yet ready for a more invasive procedure like a facelift. It may also be suitable for someone who has had a facelift in the past and is looking to maintain their results or address new signs of aging.

WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE AFTER A PDO THREAD LIFT?

The recovery process after a PDO thread lift is generally quite mild and patients can typically return to their normal activities within a day or two. Some common side effects that may occur include swelling, bruising, and minor pain or discomfort at the injection site. These side effects are usually mild and resolve on their own within a few days.

It is important to keep the area clean and dry, avoiding strenuous activity or direct sunlight, and applying ice packs or taking over-the-counter pain medication as needed to manage any discomfort.

Most people can see some initial improvement in the treated area immediately after the procedure, with further improvement in the following weeks and months as the threads stimulate collagen production. It is important to be patient and allow time for the full effects of the treatment to become apparent.
