Semaglutide $100/week

Weight Loss Medications

Semaglutide generic for $100/week.  Semaglutide is a once-a-week subcutaneous injected medication that suppresses appetite and has been used by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Ophra Winfrey, and Elon Musk to help them lose weight.  The average person will lose 15% of their body weight, which means over half will lose even more.  However, unless you have Diabetes (HgbA1c > 6.5), it is usually not covered by insurance for weight loss, and getting your prescription filled at the pharmacy will cost about $1400 for a 4-week supply.

We have made special arrangements with a Hawaii state-licensed, DEA-approved compounding pharmacy and while supplies last we can offer Semaglutide shots in the office once a week for $100/shot.  Compared to the cost at a pharmacy this saves you $1000 a month.  Check the retail price here.

WHAT ARE WEIGHT LOSS MEDICATIONS?

Weight loss medications, sometimes also called weight loss drugs or anti-obesity medications, are prescription drugs that reduce your appetite and food cravings. Over the last few years, the FDA has approved a number of non-addictive anti-obesity medications that help control appetite and food cravings. Used properly they have few to no side effects aside from making you feel not hungry.  These medications can only be prescribed by a physician.

Because weight loss drugs make you less hungry, they also reduce how many calories your body takes in each day. Over time, eating fewer calories will cause you to lose weight.

Semaglutide works by mimicking a gut hormone that causes your pancreas to release insulin, blocks your liver from making glucose and slows down how quickly food leaves your stomach. It also works in the areas of the brain that regulate appetite and fullness. While these actions can be beneficial for weight loss, they can also cause some side effects.

Semaglutide will also help decrease cravings and control compulsive eating, especially for sweets and fatty, salty, high-calorie foods.  It has also been shown to help with alcohol use, gambling, and shopping addiction.

How Quickly Do Weight Loss Medications Work?

Most people taking weight loss medications lose an average of one to two pounds per week. Of course, weight loss medications work best when you combine them with other healthy lifestyle changes like eating

healthy foods and getting regular exercise.

We have had tremendous results with these medications with every single patient being able to lose weight.  We have now had several patients lose 100 lbs.

How Long Will I Need to Take Medication?

You would stay on the injections until you have reached your desired goal weight.  Our patients have an average weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week.  So if you need to lose 50 pounds, you would need to be on the shots anywhere from 25 - 50 weeks.  At that point, you can either taper down on the dose or use it intermittently if your weight starts to creep back up. Because obesity is a chronic disease, the FDA has approved these drugs for long-term use.

Side Effects

Nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain are all typical side effects. Burping, heartburn, and flatulence (gas) are also possible. They’re more common when first starting the medication and usually get better as your body adjusts to it.  The vast majority of patients have been able to tolerate this medication.
