Chemical Peel Before and Aftercare
Follow these recommendations
to prepare for your Chemical Peel and for your aftercare
Pre - Treatment Recommendations
Cleanse your skin before your appointment. Your doctor needs your skin to be free of any dirt, moisturizers, or cosmetics before your treatment. We will clean your skin again with an antiseptic cleanser before the injection to remove anything you weren’t able to wash off.

Aftercare Instructions
Your skin will feel significantly tighter than it usually does. There can be some redness around the treated area. A hint of yellow-ish tinge, which will disappear after a couple of hours. Itching, tingling, or burning sensation is also common after your treatment. There can be some temporary hyper or hypo pigmentation. It will take about 4 to 7 days to completely peel and heal. Chemical peels on the body, chest, or arms often take longer (up to 3 weeks).
Gently cleanse your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser.
Please do not pick or pull your skin at any time after your peel, as it can cause scarring.
Please do not exfoliate using a cleansing brush or any facial scrub or acid based products for 2 weeks; longer if peel is done on the body.
Do not use any products that contain AHA, Glycolic, Retin-A,or any acne medication until your skin has finished peeling (usually 7 days, but possibly longer).
Keep skin well hydrated by drinking at least three 8-ounce glasses of water per day, and moisturizing throughout the day with a good moisturizer that is neutral and unscented. Reapply throughout the day as often as needed. Your skin should never be so dry that it is cracking or sore.
Refrain from waxing, tanning, or using sunbeds for 3 weeks.
Avoid working out and sweating for at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours. If your skin becomes itchy at any time, you may use an over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream.
Finally, stay out of the sun and use SPF 30 or higher consistently throughout the day. REAPPLY, REAPPLY, REAPPLY, for this will limit your skin from burning in the sun (even when it’s cloudy out or when sitting by a window) and will minimize the chances of more sun damage and discoloration.
Avoid makeup for 3 days following your peel. This includes foundation, blush, and highlighter.
